LGBTQA+ Graduating Student Ceremony

This year, the LGBTQ Center is excited to announce that we will be celebrating and recognizing the accomplishments of graduating LGBTQA students at our Pride Awards Ceremony on May 1, 2014. Understanding the challenging road to graduation that many students in the LGBTQA community face, this new tradition at our annual awards ceremony gives MSU graduating students, family, friends, faculty, administrators, peers, and allies the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of each graduate and their contribution to the diversity of our campus community at the conclusion of their undergraduate or graduate journey. As part of the ceremony, each graduate will receive a graduation certificate and a lavender cord.

All graduating LGBTQA undergraduate and graduate are eligible to participate.

This celebration, also known as “Lavender Graduation,” was created in 1995 by Ronni Sanlo at the University of Michigan.

To ensure that your name is listed in the program, we ask that you submit this form by midnight on Friday, April 18th. Thank you!
