Responsibilities:- Maximize space to grow healthy, fresh produce for the Pike Market Food Bank- Provide a garden orientation for new volunteers and oversee existing volunteers- Communicate and delegate daily gardening tasks to Worker Bees- Collaborate with The Commons to create an annual plan, budget, and scheduled garden purchases- Defer serious conflicts that arise to The Commons- Attend monthly Steering Committee meetings
Requirements:- Knowledge of gardening- Excellent communication skills and passion for collaboration-Experience working with diverse community groups-Demonstrates an understanding and acceptance of equity, inclusion and diversity concepts- Reliable and reachable by phone or email- Passion for food justice and community building- Knowledge of Pike Place Market community and Food Access program preferred- Project management experience preferred- Multilingual skills a major plus
Expected Commitment:Steering Committee membership is a one year commitment and will be reevaluated in January. Volunteers are expected to maintain commitments to the dates and times assigned.
