BIPOC Mentee Application
The world needs people of color to be in research and design. We bring the nuance, needs, joys, and challenges that come with our culture and our lived experience as an "other." I have a seat at the table, and I'm here to pull up a chair for you.

What is this?

This is a (free) mentee program for BIPOC looking to enter design research and strategy. A small number of mentees are selected at a time. We’ll spend 30 minutes 1:1 on the phone during the work week, 1-2 times a month. We'll determine cadence and duration based on your needs.

Who is encouraged to apply?

BIPOC, immigrants, and children of immigrants who want to enter or grow in design research and strategy. I have a research, academic, and public health background, so those coming from similar angles may particularly benefit.

What topics will we discuss?

This is not a structured program - we’ll start from where you are. I’ll be a resource to you, whether it’s helping you orient to a career in design research or giving you feedback on your portfolio. As a fellow person of color, I am also an open book to you on topics like code-switching at work, how to get paid to do impact-driven work, and beyond.

Welcome to the application! The more you can share, the better I can assess if we're the right fit.
