What name can I have on a stone handle?
Consider YOUR name, a family name, an honorary stone for a loved one who was a BWCC member.

How many letters can there be on the handle?
Each of 3 lines can be a maximum of 18 characters (including spaces and punctuation), with a maximum of three lines. Due to curvature of the handle, end characters may not be as clear. Thus it is recommended not to use the full 18 characters on any line. For easy reading, keep it simple.

Can I choose the sheet number, colour and stone position number?
Yes, you can select the stone of your choice, but in case it's already taken, please include your second and third desired options in the order form.

What will the club do if more than one person desires a specific stone?
Stone positions and colours will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The date and time of payment of the Initial Fee will be used to determine who has priority.

Can a business or other organization have their name engraved on a stone?
No. There are plenty of other options for employers and businesses to advertise at our club. The stone handle program is specifically for BWCC members, both current and past.

What is the cost to have my name engraved on a rock handle?
The Initial Fee is determined by the Board and may change from time to time.
For the inaugural 2024-2025 season the Initial Fee is $175 plus HST $22.75 = total $197.75

How long will my named stone handle stay on the curling stone?
For the initial term, and each renewal term, the stone handle will stay on the playing curling stone for a period of 3 seasons.

What is the cost to renew for another term?
An option to renew will be made available as the Adopt-A-Handle fundraiser comes to it's 3 year anniversary :)
The Renewal Fee will be determined by the Board and may change from time to time.

Can I pay in advance to have a longer term than 3 years?
Certainly – If you would like to make an initial order and pre-pay renewals for one or more additional 3-year terms please contact the Adopt-A-Rock Program Manager at the phone number or e-mail included at the end of the order form and we will manually extend the order

Each “renewal” fee paid adds 3 years to your term. For example, if you would like to start with a 9 tear term, simply select an initial fee, plus 2 renewal fees for each rock handle desired

The Renewal Fee is currently $100 plus HST $13 = total $113

What happens to the handle after my term expires?
If a Renewal Fee is not paid prior to the payment deadline of the season following expiry, that handle may be removed from the stone, and becomes a non-playing named handle

Do I own the handle with my name on it?
No – All curling handles belong to the BWCC. The Board will determine how to utilize a non-playing named handle for the benefit of the club and it’s members. This may include displaying these handles in the club.

What happens if my named stone handle becomes damaged during my term? Will the club replace it?
Yes. If a named stone handle becomes significantly damaged, the BWCC will replace it a no cost to the member provided that the member is in good standing and at least 1 year remains in the members stone handle term.

Can I have a name on a Jr Curling stone?
At this time, the BWCC is not anticipating including the Junior Stones in the program.

If the club is closed for a full season, will my term be extended?
Decisions to extend any Adopted stone's term will be made by the Board on a case by case basis.

The BWCC board reserves the right to disallow text for any reason.
Once an order has been initiated, changes may not be possible.
Orders placed during beginning of season registration will be filled in the fall with handles expected by December or January.
Orders placed after registration has closed will be filled when sufficient numbers warrant. These handles may not be available during the current season.
All orders will receive a follow-up call as confirmation for issues such as if choices made are not available.
