Community First, Community Organized
Hey everyone,
We've got a reset planned for this year, and we need your hands and heart to make it happen.
Join us Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the park for Bend Summer Pride.
What's changing: The event is now three hours, compared to previous years' 5+ hours. We are reducing our production, and asking for more community presence. Bring a blanket. Bring lunch, games, friends, chosen family, and fur babies. We'll have a limited number of local artists and community tables, a few food carts, and local talent for acoustic sets and drag pop-ups. No big stage schedule to chase, just time together. We're pausing the beverage garden this year to keep costs and complexity down.
But it only works if we do it together.
This volunteer model is lighter than past years. Shorter and more flexible time commitments. It's an "all hands on deck" model: someone needs a hand, we help. If you can give an hour, or the whole afternoon, we want you.
We will need help with:
- Welcome & Info Table: greet folks, hand out maps, answer questions
- Set-up (9:30 AM - 12:00 PM) and Take-down (3:00 - 4:00 PM): canopies, signs, tables, easy lifting
- Youth Area helpers and co-creators: bracelet making, art tables, lawn games, lots of love
- Floater: walk the park, spot what needs doing, be a friendly presence
- Leave No Trace crew: trash, recycling, pack-out
You do not need experience. Anyone can volunteer!
Filling this out is not a firm commitment. We'll email you the week before with a simple shift board, a quick 30-minute orientation option (virtual), and your day-of contact.
Why this shift? In a world that feels increasingly complex, divided, and financially challenging, we came back to the basics and asked what Pride truly means here. The answer was clear: community first, community organized. Sharing small pieces of work so no one carries it all.
With gratitude and sunscreen already packed,
Much Love —
The Bend Pride Inc. Team
