Applying for a WECS Show

WECS is an entirely student-run radio station, broadcasting 24/7 on 90.1FM and wecsfm.com. Students can apply for a one to two-hour themed radio show.

We recommend you glance through some of our current programming and the long list of guests who have rolled through the station. We hope you'll find an eclectic mix of underrepresented music from a variety of cultures/subcultures as well as broadcasting of regional, national sports, talk, and lifestyle programs.

Ideal show proposals often hone in on a genre, location, time period, movement, mood or ethic and dedicate a weekly show to exploring these ideas. Sending more than one proposal isn't just allowed, it's encouraged!

No radio experience is required! After receiving the fall semester's proposals, we will contact selected parties and you will be trained in station equipment and procedure. After receiving notes and guidance from our net radio management team, you will start your show.

WECS takes its mission to be an educational and alternative programmer seriously -- this means we are selective in our application process, but this shouldn't freak you out! Send an e-mail to wecslistens@gmail.com and we'll field questions and help brainstorm.
