Armstrong Faculty Development Reservations

Armstrong State University offers a variety of fully online faculty development opportunities specifically intended for our online instructors. Since Armstrong must pay for many training workshops and courses on your behalf, we ask that you carefully consider prerequisite and time requirements, summarized below, before submitting your request. All offerings are fully described on the OBL Workshops page located at http://www.armstrong.edu/Departments/office_online_learning/online_blended_workshops

ONLINE TEACHING COURSE. Open to (and required for) all Armstrong faculty and adjuncts who teach online but do not yet have Armstrong's Online Teaching Certification/Status. Classes are offered each month by Quality Matters, run for two weeks, and require about 8 - 10 hours/week for successful completion.

APPLYING THE QUALITY MATTERS RUBRIC. Open to full-time Armstrong faculty who have earned Online Teaching Status and want to pursue Peer Reviewer Certification/Status. You must be able to spend 10 - 11 hours/week for two weeks to complete the class. Classes are offered each month by Quality Matters.

QM PEER REVIEWER COURSE. Open to full-time faculty who have earned Online Teaching Certification, completed the "Applying the Quality Matters Rubric" workshop, and want to pursue Peer Reviewer Certification/Status. You must be able to spend 8 - 10 hours/week for two weeks to complete the class. Classes are offered each month by Quality Matters.

QM DESIGNING YOUR ONLINE COURSE. Open to full-time Armstrong faculty who have earned both Online Teaching Certification and Online Peer Review Certification and want to pursue Online Developer Certification/Status. You must be able to spend 8 - 10 hours/week for two weeks to complete the class. Classes are offered each month by Quality Matters.

QM MASTER REVIEWER CERTIFICATION. Open to full-time Armstrong faculty who have earned Online Teaching Certification and Peer Reviewer Certification. You must be able to spend 8 - 10 hours/week for two weeks to complete the class. Classes are offered each semester by Quality Matters.

COLLABORATE WORKSHOP. Open to all Armstrong faculty and adjuncts who teach online. Offered each semester by OBL for one week and requires 4 - 6 hours for successful completion.
