OWAA Call for Speakers
The Outdoor Writers Association of America is always looking for dynamic subject matter experts within the outdoor industry (and other, applicable adjacent industries) to speak at our webinars, virtual events and annual conference. We seek to present to our membership of 600 outdoor media striking content, innovative thought processes, provocative subjects and true expertise. Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis.

- First and foremost, please note that we cannot pay honorariums. We very much value and respect the information that our speakers share with our members and we wish we could compensate them appropriately. But, as a small nonprofit, we’re just not in a position to do so. Instead, we provide speakers exposure (real, valuable exposure) to a compelling mix of outdoor industry decision makers, influencers and, of course, media. We view our arrangements with speakers as a “trade” of services. Association with OWAA and our speaking engagements offer our speakers an additional level of credibility, influence and visibility and, ideally, will lead to placements in outdoor media platforms.
- Self-promotion is not allowed. Our speakers do not need to “sell” their products or services from the podium – it’s a practice we frown upon and one that erodes our credibility - and yours.
- Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Thank you for taking the time to review our approach. We look forward to reviewing your nomination.
