Definition Native speaker/Language proficient: A person who has spoken the language(s) in question from childhood or has studied the language(s). The person should be fluent and able to converse on topics in a professional setting and must pass the ACTFL OPI at "Advanced Low" to be marked proficient for the BSFS core language requirement.  Please complete this form if you are fluent in an additional language(s) (other than French and/or Arabic) and you will hear from the deans on the next steps on how to register for the ACTFL OPI examination. Please note, that you are required to be enrolled in a language track until you have been marked proficient on your degree audit. There are NO EXCEPTIONS! Please make sure you read the bulletin. You can review all the details regarding the ACTFL OPI examination requirements by following this link. Remember you will need to pass at "Advanced-Low" to be marked proficient for the BSFS core language requirement. Make sure to read the Examinee Handbook outlining the levels on their website.
