Humanities West Programs
The Institute for European Studies supports teacher access to Humanities West programs. Teachers are invited to attend for free either in-person or via Zoom.
When: all programs begin at 5:00 PM. See dates below.

Summer Institute for Community College educators
When: May 30 - 31, 2025
Where: in person, ORIAS office
The summer institute for community college educators explores topics in world history and global studies. The 2025 Summer Institute for community college educators will be constructed around modules from History for the 21st Century. Each half-day session will feature an academic talk, an exploration of teaching materials, and a facilitated discussion. The program is open to community college instructors and AP-level high school history-social science teachers (space permitting). Sign up below to get updates.
Summer Institute for k-12 educators: Infrastructure and Society
When: June 23 - 25, 2025
Where: in-person, ORIAS office
The k-12 Summer Institute is ORIAS' oldest continuously running program and is open to k-12 teachers across disciplines. The 2024 Summer Institute for k-12 educators will be Climate and Migration.
