Camp Li-Wa Spring 2020 Equestrian Program
It is now time to register for Camp Li-Wa's Lessons and Academy. After you complete the form, you will be emailed a confirmation with an invoice link. You must pay in full after you receive the invoice in order to complete registration and secure your class time. Camp Li-Wa will no longer direct bill home school correspondence schools. If you need a receipt for reimbursement, we are happy to provide one. If you participated in lessons in fall, that does not mean you are registered for spring. If you have any questions regarding what class is the right fit for you, please call Brienne Bennett at 907-712-4801 or

Li-Wa's instructors are all CHA certified and safety is top priority. Lessons are typically taught in groups of 5. Riders are progressed through CHA riding skills and general horsemanship knowledge. Lessons are taught while also teaching people about God and how to have a relationship with him. Horses are used as a tool to introduce people to Jesus.

Classes begin March 3, 2020 and run for 8 weeks ending May 9, 2020. No classes March 9-14, April 12-18, and April 19-25. Academy Graduation will be Saturday, May 16, 2020

Horsemanship Academy:

$850 Full Stage (2 Days a Week for 2 Hours a day, 16 mounted lessons and 16 ground lessons)

$500 Half Stage (1 Day a Week for 2 Hours a day, 8 mounted lessons, 8 ground lessons)

The Academy is for the young horse enthusiast (ages 12-20), who is interested in learning everything from riding horses, to training and caring for horses. There are 8 weeks per Stage. Most riders start in Stage 1 and work
through to Stage 4 over two or four years. Each Stage works toward improving riding technique and skill, and general horsemanship knowledge in ground classes. A full stage (on the two year track) meets for 8 weeks per stage, twice a week for two hours a day. This includes 1 hour of riding and a 1 hour ground class per day. The half stage puts you on a track to complete the academy in 4 years. You also meet for 8 weeks but for 1 day a week instead of two. The half stage is better for students who are not home schooled.

*Riders may be allowed to skip a Stage if their riding skill and horsemanship knowledge is determined ready for a higher stage by the barn manager.

Riding Lessons:

$50 per Lesson ($400 for 8 Weeks) (Meets once a week, approximately 20 minute ground lesson, 40 minute riding lesson) Riding Lessons are available for ages 9 and up with 200 lb weight maximum.

*If weather at the barn is colder than -15 degrees F (usually -25 @ the
airport), riding portion of lesson may be canceled and a ground lesson will be
taught. Examples of ground lessons are learning: groom & tack, parts of the
horse, breeds and colors of horses, lunging, quick release knot, gaits and
footfalls, and horse nutrition
