Petition to Ban Styrofoam in Albany County
We, the undersigned, support Local Law S - the expansion of the ban on Styrofoam (polystyrene) for commercial establishments that sell take-out food and drinks in Albany County. The current ban covers establishments with 15 or more locations. The expanded ban would cover all establishments that sell take-out food and drinks. This law will save valuable landfill space, safeguard our health, reduce the spread of toxins to our waterways and food chain, and reduce our use of fossil fuels.

This petition is brought to you by a team of volunteers in partnership with Riverkeeper, Sierra Club Hudson-Mohawk Group, People of Albany United for Safe Energy (PAUSE), Environmental Advocates of New York, and many concerned residents of Albany County.

Can we read your comment at the next Legislative meeting? *
The next VERY important thing you can do is call your county legislator to say you support the ban, your reason why, and that you want to know where he/she stands. Find out who your county legislator is by calling (518) 447-7168 or going to the local Board of Elections website and put in your street address:  http://app.albanycounty.com/boe/voterinfo/
Will you call your legislator?  If yes, feel free to send us an email and let us know how it went!  Email Tina at allgreencalendar@gmail.com. *
