NACSW™ K9 Nose Work® Workshops Registration - Perry, GA - April 11 / April 12, 2014

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGISTRATION DETAILS THOROUGHLY - THANK YOU! I try to make the registration process as clear as possible so you have all the information you need to make your decisions. Full workshop details can be found here: www.flinthillk9.com/FHK9_NEW/Events.html. Location for the workshops is the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA. CEUS are available!: CNWI (4 units per day); APDT (tbd); IAABC (tbd).

Available spots in both workshops are first come, first served.

NOTE: There are different pre-requisites for working spots for each day, so the same dog would not qualify for a working spot for both days. Please see workshop descriptions below for pre-requisites. Participants wishing to attend both days would fall into one of the following four categories: 1) Working spot both Friday and Saturday, but with a different dog each day that meets the pre-requisites for that day; 2) Working spot Friday and Audit Saturday; 3) Audit Friday and Working spot on Saturday; or 4) Audit both days.

Friday’s INTRO TO K9 NOSE WORK® workshop description: This workshop offers an overview of the activity and sport of K9 Nose Work, builds an understanding of the K9 Nose Work training philosophy, and introduces the first steps of getting a dog started in K9 Nose Work, focusing on foundation skills for dogs and handlers.

FRIDAY DOG PRE-REQUISITES: Working spots for Friday are open to dogs 6 months and older with NO prior exposure or experience in K9 Nose Work or who have just recently started on primary only (food or toy). Dogs must NOT have been introduced to any target odors yet. No prior obedience or other skills are required.

Saturday’s INTRO TO ODOR & SKILL BUILDING workshop description: This workshop expands on the foundational concepts and covers the process of taking dogs from searching for their primary reward (food or toy) to searching (hunting) for the first of three target odors. Participants will have an opportunity to observe a variety of dogs with some experience on odor.

SATURDAY DOG PRE-REQUISITES: All working spots for Saturday have been filled. There are plenty of Auditor spots available.
