AWARE Research Project on Single Parents
Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed for AWARE's Research and Advocacy project on single parents. We are looking to interview single parents about their experiences of accessing public housing after divorce (unwed parents who face/have faced public housing issues are welcome too). The recorded interview will be conducted at a time and place of your convenience in December 2015 and January 2016. We will also reimburse interviewees with a token sum of $30 at the end of the interview.

This project will examine issues single parents face, such as:
- The couple’s HDB flat must be returned after a divorce takes place if the occupation period was shorter than five years
- Long waiting periods are often involved in applying for a new flat
- Complicated housing regulations which are always subject to change adds to the sense of confusion
- Lack of housing stability can adversely impact children of such divorces due to educational disruption and emotional upheaval

For more information about the project, please see the participant information sheet and consent form here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2ET3a5XIO2CVlJRVk93WG9oMm8/view?usp=sharing

If you have any questions about the interview process, please email Megumu at associate@aware.org.sg, or call 67797137 during office hours. Thanks!
