Alton Middle School 6th Grade Band, Chorus, and Orchestra Enrollment for 2019 - 2020
We want to welcome your son/daughter to our outstanding music program at Alton Middle School. Participation in music provides your child the opportunity for self-expression, discipline, creativity, and teamwork.

Band, chorus and orchestra at Alton Middle School are scheduled classes that meet every day at the same time. Music students do not miss academic instruction time.

Your child may sign up for up to TWO (2) music classes, PROVIDED he/she has participated in these music classes in elementary school and has received the music teacher's recommendation.

Band and orchestra students are to provide their own instrument unless they rented a school instrument during 5th grade band/orchestra, or the parent has made prior arrangements with the AMS music teacher.

Students who have not participated in the Alton School District elementary band and orchestra program and wish to participate in instrumental music at Alton Middle School must have their parents contact the AMS band or orchestra director. The student will need to rent an instrument from Halpin Music Co. and take lessons with a private teacher recommended by the AMS director. *Please note: the band directors limit percussion to those students who have been in the program since 5th grade.
