kid-FRIENDLy is pleased to offer a paid showing of the documentary, Most Likely to Succeed, compliments of Mr. Todd Thornton, a visionary business leader. This thought provoking and engaging film looks at education in 21st-century America, the need to personalize learning and focus on the "whole child.".
Most Likely to Succeed focuses on the story of a school in San Diego that is completely rethinking what the experience of going to school looks like. As we follow students, parents and teachers through a truly unorthodox school experience, the audience is forced to consider what sort of educational environment is most likely to prepare students to succeed in the 21st century.
The documentary is about parents, teachers and, most importantly, students, namely the grassroots participants that make up all the statistics we hear about on the nightly news. We see their victories and defeats, their excitement and anxiety. While the students in both featured classes attempt to complete ambitious projects in anticipation of their year-end exhibition (a standard at High Tech High), Whiteley begins to formulate a stronger thesis in defense of this new wave of personalized education practices.
