Hello! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Acton Institute of Computer Science!

Our upcoming Winter 2023 session will be an 8-week camp running from Jan 15th - Mar 18th. Each class will meet once a week for an hour, skipping February break (Feb 19th-25th). Please make sure you are available for these dates before applying.

There are two roles open:

Instructor - this involves preparing for and teaching classes, being available to actively communicate with students and parents, and being open to the possibility of 1-on-1 extra help meeting with students who request it. We offer multiple levels of Scratch, SAT Math, Python, HTML, and Java courses, the syllabi of which can be found on our website. If you'd like to be an instructor, keep in mind that you may teach as many classes as you'd like each week, and that you can choose what time(s) you'd like to teach your class(es). We are very flexible. You may have to grade your students' assignments. We do have pre-prepared curriculum and detailed lesson plans, so you would not have to create your own material.

Grader - this is an asynchronous activity that involves grading homeworks and tests submitted through Google Classroom. We do have answer keys for all the homeworks and tests to help.
