Bordentown City Cats Foster Application & Hold Harmless Agreement

A Foster home/placement is a temporary home for a cat until Bordentown City Cats (BCC) can find it a permanent home with an adopter.  Thank you for offering to become a Foster parent for our rescue organization.  To be considered as a foster home/parent you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have consent from your landlord to have a cat or cats if you are a renter.
  • Have all other pets (mammals) in the Foster home spayed or neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations, if they are 6 months or older unless there are documented medical reasons for not doing so.
  • Contact the BCC Medical Coordinator and/or the Adoption and Foster Chair immediately if your foster cat is ill or injured, for instructions.  The foster cat is only to be taken to rescue-approved veterinarians, at BCC’s cost, with permission from a BCC representative.
  • Agree to allow home visits by members of the BCC Board or Adoption and Foster Committee.  The volunteers will need to see areas of the home where the cat/s will be allowed, and they will visit with household members and current pets.
  • Be willing to attend Adoption Events for which your foster cat/s is scheduled.
  • Be willing to work with the cat/s to prepare it for adoption (e.g. playing, socialization, house training, being held and touched).
  • Agree to actively partner in helping place your foster cat/s, including providing regular photographs and updates, and making it available to prospective adopters.
  • Agree to never allow the foster cat/s outdoors, unless in a secure carrier.
  • Agree to never allow the foster cat/s to be left unattended with young children.
  • Turn over the foster cat/s immediately, at any time as requested by BCC.

Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved as a Foster parent/home.  We make our approval based on the best interest of the felines we serve.  After completing the Foster Parent Application, please review and complete our Foster Parent Hold Harmless Agreement.  The Agreement must be signed before BCC will place a feline/s for fostering.
