Volunteer options will vary in scope and detail by activity: (please check all that interest you) *

Attend HEROS meetings - HEROS meets on a monthly basis. Currently we are meeting via Zoom

Work with other HEROS members to organize racial justice education opportunities (this may include creating resource lists, organizing discussion groups and other learning opportunities)

Attend racial justice learning events

Attend local school board meetings and take notes on any equity-related items /discussion - choose any of the local New Trier school districts (they currently meet via Zoom)

Show up occasionally for school board meetings when HEROS needs to demonstrate the depth of support for equity (once the school boards can safely meet in person)

Serve as a HEROS liaison to other local community organizations - eg League of Women Voters, NTHS NTPA, Booster Club, local PTA’s, etc.

Reach out to your network of local contacts to encourage letter writing to our local school boards in support of equity

Work on increasing affordable housing in your town

Attend peaceful protests

Utilize your skills/talents to help with design, marketing, social media, human resources, project management, etc. for a variety of projects from time to time
