The GADA board is seeking nominations for its 2026 fiscal year for the following positions: president-elect, secretary, and nominating committee. Memberships in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics are not required.
President-elect:
Primary responsibilities are to serve as program chair for the
membership meetings and to succeed to the office of the President at the
end of the one-year term. Nominee should be a registered and licensed
dietitian in Georgia for a minimum of two years.
Secretary:
Primary responsibilities are to keep minutes of all official meetings
of the Association, to maintain the records and files of the
Association, and to notify members of important dates and events. Term is two years. Nominee should be a registered and licensed dietitian in Georgia for a minimum of one year.
Nominating Committee:
The primary responsibilities of the Nominating Committee is to
select qualified candidates for elected positions of the Association, to
prepare an official ballot, and to submit names of individuals to the
GAND awards committee. Members of the Nominating Committee serve for
one year, except chair-elect serves two years. The candidate with the
highest number of votes will serve as chair-elect of the nominating
committee in the first year and chair the second year. Nominee should
be a registered and licensed dietitian in Georgia for three (3) years.
Per CDR, holding an elected or appointed office in a nutrition or
dietetics-related national, state, district, or community organization
that contributes to the acquisition of leadership skills and
professional development can be awarded CPEUs. A year in the term of
office (such as president) or preliminary term of office (such as
president elect) must be completed during the current recertification
cycle.
