Estimathon @ MathFest 2014

Jane Street Capital is hosting an Estimathon contest at MathFest 2014. You should totally sign up!

    Rules

The rules can be found at www.janestreet.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/estimathon_rules.pdf Be sure you (or someone on your team) understands that wacky scoring formula!

    Prizes

Members of the winning team will receive $100 Amazon.com gift cards. If we get lots of sign-ups, we may offer additional prizes for 2nd place and beyond. (We'll update this space as MathFest draws near.)

    Time / Location

The Estimathon is currently scheduled to begin at 500 pm on Thursday, August 7 in the Hilton's Pavilion Ballroom (West). One "round" takes about 40 minutes. Depending on the number of sign-ups, we may run just one round, or we may need to run a few "qualifiers" (e.g. 700 pm, 745 pm,...), followed by a "finals" for the top teams from the qualifiers. (We'll update this form with the final details as MathFest approaches.)

This sounds cool! How do I register?

You can either sign up as an INDIVIDUAL or as a TEAM. Teams may contain as many as 5 people. If you are signing up as an INDIVIDUAL, you only need to fill out your name / email / school info. (So, just the first 3 boxes.) You will eventually be teamed up with other sign-ups. If you are signing up as a TEAM, fill out name / email / school info for each team member. If you have further questions or wish to modify or withdraw your sign-up, feel free to reach out to us at estimathon@janestreet.com.
