The purpose of this survey is to gain input into the new mascot for Clairemont High School. A school mascot change should reflect cultural, historical, and/or community significance that can inspire generations for centuries to come that may include, but are not limited to, the following criteria as guiding principles: geographic features, elements, and animals. Additionally, suggestions:
- Must positively represent the entire student body now and in years to come.
- Should not be tied to anything harmful or disrespectful toward people or communities whether based on: culture, ethnicity, gender, history, race, religion, social group identity
- Can not repeat a current mascot of a high school within the San Diego Unified School District or a Clairemont Cluster school.
- Try to avoid repeating any current mascots being used by high schools within San Diego County.
- Must work with the school’s colors of Orange and Blue.
- Does not need to be alliterative (e.g. the Clairemont Corgis).
Deadline to submit suggestions: September 23, 2025.
