The Writers' Block sponsors readings throughout the day (these take place in programming space, not in the bookstore).
Reading sessions are 25 minutes, with two sessions scheduled per hour.
Once the main schedule is released (likely early April), we will open the readings sign-up form.
To keep the bookstore lively, we'll be giving over a table on the side of the Writers' Block for authors to sit and answer questions about their work, life, the universe, and everything.
As with the readings, once the main schedule is released (likely early April), we will open the office hours sign-up form.
HOW DOES THE BOOKSTORE WORK?
You are invited to leave up to twelve (12) books in the Block. They will be displayed and our attendants will make them available for sale to visitors. Penguicon takes no commission and handles sales tax for you. We are only able to sell physical books in the store, including comic books, graphic novels, and 'zines.
Writers' Block hours: Friday from 4pm to 9pmSaturday from 10am to 9pmSunday from 10am to 1pm
Load-in: 11am-4pm FridayLoad-out: 1-3pm Sunday
Later submissions will be taken first-come, first-serve as time is available, and you may remove your books from the Writers' Block any time before 3pm on Sunday that we are open, as staff is available.
Authors can load-in up to twelve (12) books to stock the Writers' Block shelves (note: 2 more than last year). In the event that a title sells out, a Writers' Block representative will send you a text so that you can restock, if desired.
Penguicon will NOT ship leftover inventory to authors: any books left in the Writers' Block after the event closes on Sunday will be considered abandoned and be donated to the convention.
We will have an area to display swag, postcards, bookmarks, etc. for visitors to take.
