demand Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union, STOP burning trash in Chester at Reworld/Covanta trash incinerator, which sits next door to the stadium and practice facility. The trash incinerator is the largest in the U.S. and is the biggest polluter in Delaware County. Chester residents suffer from higher rates of asthma, cancer and other health related issues due to the pollution from the incinerator. The incinerator contributes to poor air quality for the entire Delaware Valley region.
Subaru Park says they are the "First Zero Landfill Stadium in MLS" which is a greenwashing lie! When trash is incinerated, 70% becomes air pollution and 30% becomes toxic ash which is transported to landfill. Subaru Park needs to stop sending waste to burn and pretending it is "sustainable". Incinerating trash is the most polluting way to process waste.
