Michele Grzenda (AMC Boston Young Members & Hiking/Backpacking Trip leader) will share her experience as a participant on a 2 week guided tour of Eastern China. Highlights include visiting 7 UNESCO sites including the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Terra-cotta Warrior Museum. During a 5-day cruise down the Yangtze River, Michele’s presentation will include side trips to Three Gorges Dam – the world’s largest hydroelectricity project; Jingzhou, a city located on the banks of the Yangtze River with 6000 years history, and Shibaozhai, literally “Precious Stone Fortress” is a hill along the bank of the Yangtze River. Photos and stories from Beijing, Chongqing, and Shanghai will inspire you to plan a trip there. Michele will share travel tips on how to find bargain guided trips!
Potluck Info:
If you wish to participate in the potluck, homemade dishes are welcome, store bought goodies & takeout are equally welcome:) Plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, napkins and drink pitchers will be supplied. The auditorium has a kitchen if you need to do any re-warming or prep (w/stovetop, oven, microwave, sink & fridge). Please bring your own cooking pots if needed for stovetop.

Take the MBTA to Park Street Station. Walk through the Boston Common uphill towards the State House on Beacon St. To the left of the State House is Joy St; follow Joy St uphill to the AMC Auditorium Building (brownstone), #4 Joy St on the left hand side. Map:
