In order to carry the 4-H name and emblem, all 4-H clubs and groups must apply for and annually renew a 4-H charter. This ensures the safety of youth members and the quality of the educational programming.

CLUB CHARTER REQUIREMENTS: Utah State University is expected to maintain documentation on issuing 4-H Charters to 4-H clubs within the State of Utah. So what makes a club a charter club?

*ALL ADULT leaders have been screened and approved through the Utah 4-H Volunteer Selection Process.

*Have at least five youth members.

*Made up of youth from at least three families.

*Plan to conduct a minimum of six regular club meetings per year.

*Agree to follow 4-H and Utah State University policies and procedures, including the 4-H Club accounts and funds policy. caas.usu.edu/service-center/policies-procedures.

*Agree to follow national and state 4-H guidelines for using the 4-H name and emblem.
