The SILS Ethical and Inclusive Metadata Practices in UC Library Search Project Team (EIMP-PT) is administering this survey to gather information about DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility) metadata projects and activities at UC Libraries and Archives, and to understand the needs of the libraries for conducting this work.
EIMP-PT’s objective is to “explore and document ways to make our catalogs and discovery systems inclusive and welcoming to our communities.” Your responses will inform EIMP-PT’s project deliverables and work plan during its one-year timeline.
The survey contains four sections: demographic information, local DEIA metadata projects, local DEIA metadata practices and activities, and DEIA metadata at the UC level. Survey responses will be aggregated and anonymized in a final report, which will include a list of projects to be shared in the SILS Wiki. We may include quotes from responses in our report. To opt in or out of this option, see the bottom section of the survey. If you wish to have your quotes attributed, add your email.
If any question or section does not apply to your area of responsibility or experience, please feel free to skip. If you know of anyone else at your institution who may have valuable information to convey through this form, please also feel free to pass this survey along.
Please fill out this questionnaire by Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
