BSA 2018 Camp Research Study - Participant Application
The Boy Scouts of America and the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics are teaming up to understanding the effectiveness of Bigfoot's Playbook (Leave No Trace's newest youth curriculum resource) at enabling scouts to meet the Outdoor Ethics requirements in the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Camp programs. We are looking for camps who may be interested in participating in the research study.

If your camp is interested in participating, please fill out the following short survey. It is not required that your program has a history of using Leave No Trace in the past. Nor is it required that your staff already be trained in Leave No Trace. We are simply interested in working with camps who would like to enhance their abilities to help scouts meet the Outdoor Ethics requirements.

Individuals submitting applications for their camp to be included in this pilot program must hold a Scouting council which enables them to implement the new curriculum at their camp.

IMPORTANT — If your camp facility runs more than one program (i.e. Cub Scout day camp AND residential camp) we request that you complete the survey one program at a time. This may require some facilities to submit two applications — which is OK!

If chosen for the research program, there are a few requirements of participating camps:
--> Incorporate Leave No Trace into your staff training as recommended by the BSA / Leave No Trace Research Team.
--> Fulfill brief reporting requirements throughout the summer of 2018. The reporting will be collected through an online survey program.
