NCPR Healthcare Survey
The challenges of rural healthcare in regions like the North Country come from every conceivable angle. The primary care physician-to-patient ratio is far lower in rural areas. There’s a shortage of doctors and nurses. Specialists are even more in demand. Hospitals are struggling to survive. People have to drive long distances to get the care they need.
