Math is Art!
Mrs. O'Neill and Miss Phillip's 8th grade students worked as a class and recreated the Mona Lisa!
Each of the 3 math classes were given the basic instructions, chose 1-2 leaders to keep organized and assign specific tasks. The students were given the original picture of the Mona Lisa split into 30 sections. Their task was to use DILATIONS to recreate the picture. Each class was told to make it their own. They were to keep the basic outline/detail of Mona Lisa the same, and each student was given a square to recreate.

It was enjoyable for the students and interesting to see how they worked together to complete this project.

BUT! They are also competing for an ICE CREAM PARTY! Based on YOUR anonymous votes, a winner will be chosen!
Please choose which Mona Lisa picture you like the best! Please make sure to look at the original picture BEFORE you vote. Choose the picture that depicts the original the best!!
Here is the original photo the students were drawing from.
