Complete this form by Friday Aug 11th so we have ample time to coordinate carpooling and gear needs! We'll let you know by Sunday Aug 13th if you have a spot -- we prioritize BIPOC attendance by first giving spots to BIPOC cyclists then assigning the rest through random selection.

ROUTE: https://bikepacking.com/routes/finger-lakes-overnighter/

DISTANCE: 62 miles over two days (27 first day, 35 second day)

ELEVATION GAIN: 4,000' - below average amount of climbing for this region, but yes there are hills

ROUTE TYPE: mix of country roads, gravel, and a few lesser known trails within Finger Lakes National Forest

WHO: this is for femme, trans*, women, and non-binary cyclists; priority to BIPOC cyclists (limited to 12 sign-ups)

COST: free / by donation

WHAT TO BRING: we'll provide more detail about this but this is a bikepacking trip! We encourage folks to carry their own camping gear, food, water (one source on the route). We have panniers and camping gear available to lend. Please let us know what you may need! Concerned about carrying gear? DM us about it! We'll do our best to support your gear needs.

DESCRIPTION: the loop starts and ends in the village of Watkins Glen. A short ride south on the Catherine Valley Rail Trail leads to Montour Falls, home to the first of three waterfalls on the route. After a few more miles of rail trail, riders are greeted with the only major climb of the route up Terry Hill, followed by a leisurely descent into the small town of Odessa for a quick bite to eat or to supply pickup for the night. We'll be camping at Texas Hollow State Forest - a primitive campsite (no bathrooms or trash cans). The second day of the route travels northward into Finger Lakes National Forest.

This loop primarily follows gravel roads but mixes in some paved sections, trail, and forest service roads for good measure. The entire route is rideable on almost any functional bike, but is best suited to gravel bikes and hardtail mountain bikes. If we decide to make the trip shorter, the northern tip of the route can easily be trimmed down on the go with little fuss.

DM us with any questions about the route or your gear!

**Please recognize this space is intended for femme, trans, non-binary, and women riders only. If you do not identify as such, but would like to support our efforts, please contact us about donating to our gear library, taking a shift to be on-call local ride support, or cooking or sponsoring food for our events**
