We're excited to bring Hacktober Fest to Taita Taveta University.This program is intended to encourage meaningful contributions to the open source ecosystem, for beginners and veterans alike.


šŸ“Œ What's Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest ā€” brought to you by DigitalOcean in partnership with DEV ā€” is a month-long celebration of open-source software.
To qualify for the official limited edition Hacktoberfest shirt, you must register and make four pull requests between October 1-31. No contribution is too small ā€” bug fixes and documentation updates are valid ways of participating.

šŸ“Œ Event Info & Venue

The goal of the event is to encourage members to contribute to Open Source Projects, share their projects on GitHub and as well learn to collaborate with other people on their projects.

This event will take place on 25th October 2019 at Taita Taveta University, room Ab5-005 Main campus from 8pm to 11pm.

8.00 PM - Check-in
8:10 PM - Welcome & Intro about Hacktoberfest
8:20 PM - Talk From Stella Kaniaru (DSC Lead 2018/2019)
8:30 Pm - Hacking

We kindly request participants to arrive on time and carry their laptops, internet will be made available for the hack session.

This event is free and targeted to anyone interested in learning about and/or contributing to open source.
