There are three 1-hour long session types available at TIES 2019. Please select the type of session you are proposing:
Roundtable: A time for people with similar identities or working on similar projects to gather, exchange ideas, network, and discuss a specific topic.
Panel: A group of individuals gathered to discuss a specific topic with a moderator. It must include a question-and-answer (Q&A) segment to develop more in-depth conversation between attendees and panelists.
Workshop: A prepared presentation with stated and specific learning objectives. Workshops are teaching/learning sessions in which attendees gain important information about a specific topic.

If selected, the description you provide will be used in the TIES program. Please describe the content, format, and style of your session in detail. Your description can include: learning objectives, activities/exercises participants can expect, Q&A portion, etc.
What topic area(s) does your proposal fall under?

Advocacy & Know Your Rights: Opportunities for advocacy at all levels or self-empowerment through understanding current laws and policies that relate to transgender protections and rights.
Basic Needs: Sharing transgender-affirming information and resources on affordable housing, healthcare, shelters, food pantries, employment, benefits, clothing, etc.
Racial Justice: Honoring someone's race, ethnicity, and culture is just as important as honoring their gender. I want to contribute to TIES by sharing anti-racist framework and strategy.
Transition-Specific Support: Discussing the many experiences of transitioning medically, emotionally, socially, or legally as well as coming out.
Creative Outlet: Fostering a communal space to discuss or engage in creative endeavors with fellow transgender/non-binary/gender non-conforming (GNC) folks and allies
Building Community: Creating space for interaction or learning with other trans/non-binary/GNC people around age, identity, healing, history, etc.
