Baltimore Escalera Internship Experience Interest Form - Summer 2019
"Escalera" (or "ladder" in Spanish) is a college and career readiness curriculum used in the Mi Espacio after-school program at CASA, the DMV's foremost immigrant advocacy organization.

Escalera is a two year-long program that teaches 10th-12th grade high school students college and job readiness, and requires all of its students to complete an internship experience of at least 80 hours.

The primary goal of the Escalera Internship experience is to help students gain a better understanding of their potential career options, interests, and dreams. All Escalera students have taken part in college prep, career interest, office professionalism, and interview trainings to prepare them for their Internship experiences.

At their host sites, Escalera students will be provided with meaningful opportunities to learn and contribute to the host's overall goals and daily operations. Hosts are also expected to provide opportunities for professional development, skill-building, and training beyond normal day-to-day operations of the site.

On this form, please indicate who you are, who would be potentially responsible for hosting and supervising the Escalera intern, and the time commitment and responsibilities that your organization or company can offer to the student.

Thank you very much for your time and interest in supporting immigrant students in the Greater Baltimore area! We look forward to our potential collaboration.
