MCPS Substitute Regulation Feedback- parents
MCPS has been experiencing a substitute shortage. On average there are 15460 substitutes requested by our 206 schools each month and 1880 of those requests are unfilled. That means, on average, 12% of the substitute requests go unfilled each month. In order to address this challenge, MCPS is considering a change to the substitute regulation. Your feedback is needed as this regulation is reviewed and revisions are considered.

MCPS is considering a change to the substitute regulation to require all individuals to have earned a minimum of an Associates Degree or 60 credits in order to be eligible to serve as a substitute teacher in MCPS.
