LUMPKIN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANNUAL AWARDS PROGRAM

Description:

The Madeleine Anthony award is limited to one recipient per year as selected by the Awards Committee from nominations submitted by members of the Society. The Isabella Lynn award is not restricted to any specific year.  This form may be used for either award. To be considered nominations must be received by the Awards Committee not later than 1 March.

Criteria:

The Madeleine K. Anthony Award is based on a significant contribution toward the preservation of Lumpkin County history during the specified calendar year.  The Isabella T. Lynn award uses the same criteria but is for contributions of a number of years.

 The criteria for the award may include, but is not limited to categories listed below:

1.  Publications: including books, articles or scholarly works published during the specified calendar year.
2.  Programs: including programs for school children; community programs celebrating local history; special program presentations to academic bodies or to special interest groups.
3.  Projects: including protection of buildings or other historic assets; research projects such as church or cemetery surveys; protection of sites; or public information projects such as tour guides, speeches, public forums, or legislative action.
