Sustainable RIVER Application
Application Overview
Below is a description of the information that you will need to provide on the application.

You will be asked to provide basic contact information, including: first and last name, e-mail, postal-mail address, and phone number. A demographical section will encourage you to indicate your race, ethnicity, gender-identity, and whether or not you are a first-generation college student.

A section appropriated to college preparation will ask you to list the name of the college/university you are attending, whether you are attending a 2-year or 4-year institution, all academic major(s) and minor(s), any collegiate awards/certificates received, the number of academic credits you will have received by the end of 2016, and your GPA.

The third section will help match you with the individual research projects. You will be asked to identify up to three research projects that you would be interested in conducting (see the Research Projects tab for more information on the individual research projects), any courses taken that are relevant to the chosen project(s), and how familiar they are with the Missouri River and the sustainability issues surrounding it.

Finally, you will be asked to provide information about why you are interested in and qualified for the Sustainable RIVER project. This will include providing a personal statement describing your interest in the Sustainable RIVER project and how it relates to your long-range career plans. You will also be asked to provide the names of three professional references who will be submitting letters on your behalf. At least one of the references should be a professor or instructor at your college/university. The letters of reference can be sent via e-mail to Sustainability@usd.edu.
