The objective of this Memorandum is an appeal from the Members of the Association of Private Kidney Care Providers Malaysia (APKCPM) to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam and PERKESO to consider and/or support our request for some of the products and services used in dialysis treatments to be zero-rated.
Request
In light of the above issues, we herein highlight to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam and PERKESO that the Members are collectively requesting your support for the following to be zero-rated GST.
A.
List of Medications in the MOH Drug Formulary (Blue book list), which specify the medications that are approved to be procured by and prescribed in MOH practice.
Medications in the so called National Essential Medicines List is currently zero-rated. This list is not compatible with the practice of modern healthcare. The MOH itself could not deliver safe and effective healthcare by limiting its procurement & prescription to the Essential Medicine list alone, hence it has approved a separate list which we are willing to accept for our practice too.
