Local NAMIWalks Text Message Request Form
Complete this form to request a local text message to be sent for to NAMIWalks participants. Each NAMIWalks event will be able to send up to five local text messages per season. 

Please only submit one text message request per form. Forms with multiple requests will be deleted. 

Please note, NAMI National already has these text messages scheduled concerning topics such as: coaching to fundraise, thank you's, recruitment, etc. 

We encourage you to use your text messages on important topics such as:  
  • T-shirt deadline or pickup 
  • Information for Cultivation Events 
  • Save the date announcements 
  • Presenting sponsor(s) shout-out(s) 
  • Fundraising opportunities (such as give back nights, etc.) 
Local text messages sent for inclement weather changes will not count towards your allocation of five local text messages per event. The inclement weather text message request form can be found here. 

The details:
  • Text messages sent to all currently registered participants, all team captains, or all lapsed participants with no segmentation require a 2-3 business day turnaround time once content is confirmed. 
  • Text messages to currently registered users that require segmentation (app user vs. non app user, dollars raised - $0, greater than $X, or between $X and $Y, met goal, not met goal, % to goal) will require a 14 business day turnaround time once content is confirmed. 
  • Inclement weather changes will be sent at the earliest available time. 
  • Text messages are 500 characters or less (including spaces): letters and spaces count as one character, emojis count as two characters, and URLs count as 15 characters. 
  • Can include images, videos, and audio files. Files must be less than 1 MB. Acceptable file types are .png, .jpg, .gif, and .mp4. Images must be 1140x764 pixels and have a 20% top and bottom margin inside your design because some devices crop the image. 
  • Variables include Event Name, Event Date, First Name, Goal, and Amount Raised. If you include a variable in your content to customize the notification, the information will automatically be added when sent. An example of content with variables would be: "[First Name], thank you for raising [Amount Raised] for NAMIWalks! Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing you on May 5 from 3-5 p.m. ET at our office for our T-shirt pickup!" 
  • To use your emoji keyboard: Windows - Windows key + . (period). Mac - Control + Command + Spacebar.  
NAMI National reserves the right to approve, edit, or deny any local text message request. You will receive email communications updating you on the status of your request. 

Any request to have more than five local text messages for your NAMIWalks event must be submitted via email to Emma Tomasetti at etomasetti@nami.org for review. Emma will notify you if your request is able to be approved.
