Meat Goat Classes:

1. Senior Meat Goat Showmanship (ages 16 - 19, as of 9/30/19)
2. Intermediate Meat Goat Showmanship ( ages 13 - 15, as of 9/30/19)
3. Junior Meat Goat Showmanship (ages 9 - 12, as of 9/30/19)
4. Novice Meat Goat Showmanship (First year showing Meat Goats, ages 9 - 12, as of 9/30/19)
5. Market Goat (classes broken by weight, day of show)
6. Breeding Doe (classes broken by weight, day of show)
7. Breeding Buck (all bucks will show together, regardless of age)

Dairy Goat Classes:

8. Senior Dairy Goat Showmanship (ages 16 - 19, as of 9/30/19)
9. Intermediate Dairy Goat Showmanship (ages 13 - 15, as of 9/30/19)
10. Junior Dairy Goat Showmanship (ages 9 - 12, as of 9/30/19)
11. Novice Dairy Goat Showmanship (First year showing Dairy Goats, ages 9 - 12, as of 9/30/19)
12. Junior Does (Born February 16, 2019 or later)
13. Dry Yearlings up to 12 months (Born February 14, 2018 to February 15, 2019)
14. Milking Does under 2 years of age
15. Milking Does 2 years and older

Rules

1. Goats may only be shown in one division, one class. Market goats may not be shown in the breeding show and
commercial does/dairy does may not be shown in the Market show.
2. All meat goats breeding and market will be shown by weight. There will not be separate classes for registered
vs. commercial meat goats.
3. Each exhibitor may show a maximum of three market goats, 3 meat breeding does, and 2 meat breeding bucks.
4. Each exhibitor may show a maximum of two animals in each of the four dairy doe classes.
5. All goats must be washed and dry prior to entering the ring.
6. Goats may be shown with halters or neck chains, but MUST be broke to lead either by neck chain or halter. Goats that
are not broke to lead will not be allowed to show.
7. Any animal showing signs of sore mouth, foot rot, or any other infectious or contagious disease will be excused from
the fairgrounds.
8. Animals must be identified by tag or tattoo and all breeding and market goats must have an official USDA Scrapie
Identification tag or tattoo prior to the show.
9. Entry fees of $10.00/head should be mailed to VCE-Botetourt PO Box 217 Fincastle, VA 24090 and postmarked by August 2nd, 2019.
