Become a Fishtown Block Captain!
The City of Philadelphia takes applications for residents to represent their block as Block Captain. You can submit for a form below. Surprisingly, the city does not provide a list of these roles, which can be at the detriment of block captains and is something many block captains disagree with! You can read more about that here and here. We believe that if Block Captains and other neighborhood organizers had access to this information we'd be able to make an impact on our neighborhoods - though we understand privacy concerns! So if you agree to be contacted you can let us know below.

Block Captain Duties!

-Organize and lead block cleanups 

-Serve as a liaison between residents and city agencies 

-Report issues like illegal dumping or missed trash pickups 

-Encourage neighbors to keep sidewalks and lots clean 

-Help build community engagement and participation

-Distribute city information and flyers to neighbors
