The School Site Council (SSC) is the committee that examines Oxford School’s student achievement data and other school needs, and makes a plan every year to address those needs.  The SSC decides how to spend the money Oxford gets from local, state, and federal governments, determining budget and spending priorities for the year.  Serving on the SSC is a great way to learn about Oxford, and to guide funding decisions at the school.  The SSC is comprised of an equal number of parents/guardians and school staff and it’s a two-year term for members.  Meetings are held in the early evenings, once a month.

Our goal is for the membership of the School Site Council is to represent our diverse student body so that all voices are heard.  If you are interested in finding out more about the SSC, please contact Beth Rhine, bethrhine@berkeley.net.

Nominate yourself to be on this important committee.  Nomination forms must be returned by Friday, September 1.  Oxford parents and guardians will then vote to select the parent members of the SSC.  Even if you are not selected to serve on the SSC, all meetings are open to the public and input from all interested members of the Oxford Community is welcome.  The Oxford SSC will have their first meeting in October.   BUSD/SSC training and information session is on October 14th.
