Hey there!
Thank you for your interest in our education programs. We're excited to work with your class, school, or community group, to engage, inform, and empower youth through environmental education.
Please note that our programs are primarily delivered to public schools (at no cost), but we also we encourage independent schools and other groups to reach out to us to discuss honorariums based on the nature and scope of the programming requested.
Please fill out the following information, and we will be in touch to coordinate programming with you.
As a reminder, our offerings are:
- Streamside Education - all grade levels. (nature walk and streamside lesson, aquatic bug scavenger hunt, and option for assisted fry releases for participating Salmon in the Classroom schools)
- Shoreline Education - grades 5 and up. (forage fish surveys, crab identification, beach cleanups, beach seining)
- Creatures of Habitat* - grades 6-7. (in-class presentation on native and invasive plants, and a full-day of restoration activities.)
- Rains, Drains, and Gardens - grades 5 and up. (in-class presentation on stormwater pollution and rain gardens, and an excursion to a nearby rain garden, for weeding, mulching, planting, storm drain marking)
- Watershed and Salmon Education** - grades 3/4. (interactive watershed model presentation, a lesson on salmon life cycle, and a game of "Salmon Tag"!)
- Yellow Fish Storm Drain Marking - grades 3 and up. (in support of DFO's Storm Drain Marking Program, we help coordinate and lead storm drain marking excursions for schools and community groups)
* Creatures of Habitat will only be offered in the fall every year. These events typically reach 200-400 students at each school. We recommend that participating schools designate one teacher as the lead coordinator for your event with us.
** Our watershed and salmon education program is delivered in May and June, however we make exceptions to this in some cases.
