You should only participate in this study if you are aged 18 and over and are a Newcastle United fan or have an interest in Newcastle United.
The purpose of this research is to discover whether club sponsorship has an effect on fan loyalty. In this case, the research is attempting to examine whether sponsorship of Newcastle United FC, specifically the shirt sponsor Wonga. The questionnaire contains questions which look at Newcastle United, Wonga, The Premier League, and general sponsorship. Some demographic questions begin the questionnaire just to get an idea of different types of people and how they are affected by sponosrship and the forthcoming questions.
Once you have read this information and understood everything within this, you can then tick the consent box which is located prior to all questions and then commence with the online questionnaire. There is a total of 20 questions which will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
The data collected in this study will be used for an Undergraduate Thesis. It may also be published in scientific journals or presented at conferences. Any information and data gathered during this research study will only be available to the research team identified above. Should the research be presented or published in any form, all data will be anonymous (i.e. personal information or data will not be identifiable).
You will receive a debrief on completion which will provide details of how you can receive information relating to the outcomes of the research study and how you can withdraw your contribution to the data collected should you wish to do so. You may find that the data collection process includes elements that you may not wish to divulge or take part in – all participants are free to withdraw from the research study at any stage should you not wish to participate at any stage. To protect you, your answers are totally anonymous and all participants within the research study will not be referred to and identified throughout the process and final write up through use of their participant identification number only.
Only the principal investigator and the supervisor of this study will have access to information, the research data collected will be stored securely and remain in its original format and no alterations will be made from the original source.
