We're looking for people to give a talk about a passion or a personal experience in which they have "broken barriers." This can have many different meanings to many different people, but this is exactly the point. Breaking barriers can include discovering new information, resisting a popular way of thought, and even overcoming an internal obstacle. This theme is very flexible, so go ahead and make it your own!
The auditions are for us to screen your talk. We will be looking at how cohesive your ideas are and the strength of your content. We are not looking for perfect delivery, but you should be able to speak confidently. The people who best fulfill these criteria will be selected. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to incorporate the talks of everyone who auditions for this event, since we may not have the space.
GUIDELINES:1. Your talk must be between 5-10 minutes long, and you must present the whole thing at the audition.2. You may use presentation slides or pictures to enhance your talk, but this is not required.3. Your talk must somehow relate back to the theme of "Breaking Barriers," but again, the theme is very broad and allows for flexibility!
The audition dates are as follows:Wednesday, November 8Thursday, November 9Monday, November 13Tuesday, November 14Wednesday, November 15
WE ADDED NEW AUDITION DATES TOO! Thursday, November 16Friday, November 17
The actual event will take place on Monday, November 20, at 3:30 p.m. in Raider Hall. Don't miss this chance to share your story!
