The Summer School of Architecture is an educational and scientific project established in 2010 by the professional NGO “Grupa arhitekata” from Belgrade. This year’s edition of the School is divided into two modules – technology and architectural conservation, both modules focusing on earth architecture.Technology module will focus on the methodology of the energy improvement and comfort in buildings earthen architecture, as well as the methods of monitoring the energy efficiency of selected buildings. Students will be placing the data loggers which will record the energy performance of buildings and on the basis of which will be drafted Atlas of energy performance of earthen architecture in the municipality of Bač. The aim is to provide students opportunities present a software simulation and non invasive methods for improvements of the energy performance of buildings, as well as limitations of these methods in the rehabilitation. Architectural conservation module will focus on creating a database of "monuments " before and after restoration, emphasizing the so-called "living" heritage. A special part of the module will be working on the site, on restoration and conservation of adobe walls, introducing the methods of conservation of other structural elements in earth buildings.
