Innis InSight Mentorship Committee is the official mentorship program offered by the Innis College Office of Student Life. We provide an opportunity for first-year students at Innis College to ask questions about U of T and get advice from an experienced upper-year student by pairing first-years with upper-years based on academic background.In addition, we also facilitate both academic and personal growth through hosting a variety of workshops and events. Examples of our events include iStudy Sessions, Socials, and Study Marathons.
Responsibilities of a Mentor include but are not limited to:- Attending two mandatory Mentor training sessions in April and September (date to be decided) - Providing advice and guidance to Mentees, and referrals to campus resources.- Contacting Mentees at least once per month (format depends on Mentor and Mentee, can be in-person meetings, email, instant messages etc.)- Being accessible to Mentees- Attending committee meetings- Reporting to the Committee Head(s) about progress with Mentees- Helping the Committee Head(s) and Executive Mentors with events planning and organization
This is a volunteer position. Applications are completely online, and are due on Tuesday March 14th, 2017 by 6pm. Any response submitted later than 6pm will be disregarded. Successful applicants will be contacted for a second round consisting of a short interview
