Grinnell Oratorio Society

Welcome to the Grinnell Oratorio Society! By signing up here, you become an official Member of the Society, with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities pertaining thereto — and there are no dues! Returning members, we're so glad to have you back!

The Oratorio Society is open to all – students, faculty, staff, and community members -
to get together on Mondays and have a good time singing tuneful, spirited music.

This spring we will be preparing two different mid-sized works: Daniel Pinkham's Wedding Cantata is for choir and piano, and takes its text from the Song of Songs, biblical chapters well-known for their even sometimes erotic qualities. The Oratorio Society will then join with the Grinnell Singers to present Maurice Duruflé's Requiem for choir and organ, a work praised for its chant-like vocal lines with yet modern harmonies.

First meeting will be Monday, January 25, 2016, 7 p.m., Sebring Lewis Hall at Grinnell College's Bucksbaum Center for the Arts.

The Grinnell Oratorio Society rehearses Mondays 7-9 p.m. in Sebring Lewis Hall. However, there are a few changes to the schedule so please email the director if you are not on the email list.
