Supporting an opportunity for independent artists to conceptualize and create innovative art and community programs. These projects will be focused on positive inspiration and civic involvement for the people of Denver. Each project must involve methods to create a more inclusive community and inspire others to do the same. The project will be completed at The Fox Compound located at 725 W 39th Ave. The first grantees will be featured at the 2017 Denver Taco Festival Street Gallery.

The purpose of this grant is to plant the seeds of community building through art. Creativity works because it is a way for us to connect to our neighbors and our surroundings. It is also a way to connect to something bigger than ourselves.
For the purposes of the Street Art Grant, a mural is defined as a one-of-a-kind work of art, which is hand-created and applied directly to the surface of a physical structure. It may be comprised of paint or a variety of mixed media, including three-dimensional elements, which are graded for exterior use, and harmoniously integrated into the physical structure.
Grant funds will be allocated towards build collateral, materials, marketing and public relations.
Any artist or team of artists demonstrating the ability to execute a successful mural project regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. We encourage emerging artists to apply.
Preference will be given to projects with: A well-planned youth development and community engagement component. Artists who demonstrate past ability to work on large scale projects.
**APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JUNE 5TH, 2017**
The grant proposal will be managed by Connected Soul. Grantees will view criteria and submit ideas to our team. We will then narrow down the applicants to a reasonable number to be reviewed by Sweet Leaf executives that will choose 3 finalists. Once they have been chosen, we will open the options to the public for a vote. A custom Facebook application will house the voting. The combined traffic from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media destinations will be used to promote the project.
