Sunrise RI -- July 2019 Orientation Training
~~ Register BEFORE Thursday, July 11th (as space is limited!) ~~

This is a Youth Climate Organizing Training by Sunrise RI, a local chapter of the youth-led organization, Sunrise. Our mission is to build a movement of young people to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process.

Be part of the biggest youth-led intervention on climate change in U.S. history! Help make our voices heard and transform Democratic politics to work for all of us. We will no longer be silent while fossil fuel elites and corrupt politicians ruin our chances for a safe and equitable future.

This is for you--whether you've come to Sunrise RI events and meetings before and want to get the big picture of the Sunrise vision, you're involved with other climate organizations and want to hone your skills/build your network or whether you're just starting out and want to learn more about climate justice, we'd love to have you!

This training is open to young people of any background (people of color and other historically marginalized identities are particularly encouraged to apply), and welcomes people new to Sunrise and organizing in general. Come join in the fight for a safe, healthy, and just future. Breakfast/lunch as well as refreshments will be served!

Saturday, July 13th 9AM-8PM
Sunday, July 14th 9AM-5PM
(breakfast/lunch and snacks will be provided!)

CARI Office
545 Pawtucket Avenue
Pawtucket, RI 02860

RIPTA from Kennedy Plaza, @ Stop J, take Pawtucket via NORTH MAIN (R line) to Grenville Street (R line). If transportation costs are prohibitive to you, please contact us.

Parking: Free parking lot!

You are highly encouraged to attend the full day training if you're able, as the training curriculum builds on itself and you will have more opportunities to learn, grow and bond with other attendees. However, if you aren't able to commit, you are still invited to attend (as long as you commit to coming to as much of the training as you are able).

Registration DEADLINE:
Wednesday, July 10th 11:59 PM
We encourage people to register ASAP as space is limited. You will be notified of your registration status by Friday, July 12th (if more people register than we can accommodate).

** Costs: As a new movement, we don't have the same amount of money as more established groups (or the fossil fuel billionaires!) but we do have a bold vision, a plan to build unprecedented people power to stop the climate crisis, and the support of our communities. We are asking for sliding scale from $5-15 to allow us to provide food and rent this space. We do not want cost to prevent anyone from attending so if this is at all a problem--please feel free to reach out to us! We will have a box to collect cash at the training, or can also be Venmo'ed!

For any questions/concerns, please reach out to Susanna at

~~ Registration DEADLINE: Thursday July 11th ~~
